We spend most of our time telling you about great books to read, or stories of how people are living a bookish life.
But this time, we want to tell you about what’s under the hood -- we’ve been working hard (remotely and socially distanced, of course!) on a number of great new features to make your digital reading experience even better than before.
A quick look at what’s new:
eReader navigation
- Hamburger be gone! Now, you can access and discover more books or go back to the Home screen with one less tap. You’ll also find a new clock on the upper-left corner of your screen.
Sign in to your account with Apple
- To make signing in easier, you can now use your Apple ID to sign in to Kobo across all of our platforms.
Bigger, better dictionaries and more languages
Meanwhile, here are some improvements to the following features and apps:
Payment details
- Improved our checkout error messaging across all of our platforms.
- We redesigned our Payment Information page in your account settings. Sign in for a look.
iOS updates
- We’ve improved the speed the dictionary appears in our iOS app.
Android updates
- For audio subscribers, we added a banner to our Android app to always show your credit balance for your subscription.
- Fixed a problem for Kobo Plus customers: the white screen you may have encountered while browsing is fixed.
- We’ve added the OpenDyslexic font
- Expanded number of languages in dictionaries
Audio subscription fixes
- Credit redemptions were taking longer than normal. We fixed a bug and returned this to the usual speedy service levels you’re used to!
- Added a banner to our Android app to always show your credit balance for your subscription.
Kobo Plus updates
- We hate to see you go! Now you can type in your reason, so you can tell us in your own words how we can improve our Kobo Plus service.
- Fixed a problem for Kobo Plus customers in our Android app that sometimes resulted in a white screen while browsing our store.
